UltraDeck 1 is Signature’s medium-duty natural turf protection system. It is designed to offer a greater level of protection, rigidity, and weight loading capability than Signature’s EventDeck 1 system. This product is ideal for applications where equipment, light vehicles, pneumatic tire forklifts and generally more traffic is expected. UltraDeck modules are significantly larger in size and thickness (1ft x 2ft) than the general purpose EventDeck and its wall thickness, surface thickness and connector size has been increased substantially to make EDU1 more robust and heavier duty.
   
   
 
 
 
 
     
 
The UltraDeck 1 system has been used at numerous natural turf facilities worldwide, including large soccer facilities, football facilities and all types of venues. The product has proven itself through repeated use for all different types of events. When Disney needed a robust floor to be installed on athletic fields nationwide for a traveling event tour, they turned to Signature and UltraDeck 1 for peace of mind and a product that met all its rigorous turf protection and event requirements.
 
     
   
     
     
 
 
     
 
UltraDeck portable flooring is ideal for use over all types of natural turf, including cold weather grasses such as Kentucky Blue Grass and warmer weather varieties such as Bermuda Grass. Whether your facility over-seeds warmer weather grasses with Rye grass or uses a mixture of grasses to achieve top performance, the EDU1 system is perfect for nearly every natural turf protection need.

We understand all types of natural turf “systems” and have designed our systems to minimize wear, surface abrasion, base compaction, and contamination of the turf as a result of attendee traffic. EDU’s underside channels are contoured to eliminate sharp edges and to prevent possible damage or cutting of sensitive grass. Most importantly, our systems prevent “cookie cutting” and focused point loading damage by distributing weight more effectively than other systems. There are no round pressure pads or other concentrated surfaces that can cause grass compaction.

Each UltraDeck 1 module incorporates bi-lateral, heavy duty, cross ribbing for effective weight distribution. EDU1 has thicker ribs, distributed in an optimal pattern to provide additional stability and to prevent impressions in your turf under heavier weights.


 
     
     
 
 
     
 
An entire 80,000 sq/ft (7,432 sqm) stadium field surface can be deployed in 4-6 hours with about 20 people and can be removed in about 5 hours using 16 people. This rapid turnarounds time enables UltraDeck to be deployed after the field is in use and shortly before the upcoming on-field event. This is better for scheduling purposes and for grass protection as quick turnarounds minimize the impact to the grass surface.

Because EDU1 modules are pre-assembled into larger transportable panels, transport is easy and each person can lift a complete 3ft x 4ft section for placement into position. This time efficient, one-man design enables complete flexibility in team size and allocation and allows even smaller teams to complete a project, albeit over a longer period of time. For example, if a team of 10 people vs. 20 people is used to install a full stadium, it will take about 9-13 hours to install a complete stadium sized floor.
 
     
     
 
 
     
 
The UltraDeck 1 system is designed to be easily installed without the use of tools. It is completely expandable and may be configured as required on-site. Pre-assembled sections can be packed compactly and efficiently for easy transport and storage. UltraDeck 1’s size allows for it to be transported and stored on standard shipping pallets, making the system efficient for transport between facilities.

Each UltraDeck module connects using a robust inter-module connection system that enables tiles to be snapped into place in both directions and allows larger sections to be transported as a single sheet or panel. This system prevents disconnects and is easily visible, making connection verifiable and apparent, in contrast to other solutions using cam or rotary connection systems.

Signature’s specially designed connector T utilizes a unique tubular design that serves as both a connector and a fully functional hinge. This design allows the entire floor to contour to the field as needed to accommodate “crowned” fields and other surface imperfections or variations or to be rolled as needed, yet is robust enough to handle heavy weights, equipment, and traffic. The EDU1 connection joint is durable yet flexible, preventing any breakage. Like all Signature products, the EDU1 is warranted against damage, giving you additional confidence in the system.

Because of the unique shape of each module, EDU1 may be positioned easily using ones feet only, eliminating the need to bend over, use hands, or any employ any tools. Each individual flooring section is gently curved on the male connector side and correspondingly curved on the female side, such that when a section is butted up against another, it naturally wants to self-position for snap down connection. A simple nudge may be used to help position each section into place, making this system extraordinarily fast to install.

This industry leading feature proves invaluable for stadium sized installations and saves labor, time, and effort. No other system has such a labor saving integrated design feature.


 
     
     
   
 
     
 
All plastic flooring materials will expand and contract during fluctuating temperature conditions. This phenomenon of thermal expansion is a result of the nuclear expansion within the plastic and is a natural property of all plastic materials (and many other materials as well). In plastic modular floors, expansion can result in floors warping, buckling, disconnecting or otherwise becoming uneven.

Only Signature Flooring offers an engineered expansion joint module to accommodate the thermal expansion that can occur during varying temperature conditions. Like an expansion joint in a bridge, building, or highway, the EventDeck expansion module is designed to accommodate natural expansion.

Until the development of the UltraDeck Expansion Module (EDU-XJ), event managers, concert promoters, stadium managers, groundskeepers and others involved in the production of concerts or other on-field events simply had to accept the inconvenient condition of thermal expansion at outdoor events as unavoidable.

With EDU-XJ organizers can feel comfortable knowing that the UltraDeck system will be able to handle temperature fluctuation throughout the day and night, avoiding potential warping or buckling and giving you the peace of mind that an engineered solution is in place.

- Extra rugged bi-lateral ribbing for greater structural stability and effective weight distribution.

- A unique rib pattern design that minimizes concentrated surface contact (which can cause turf burn and browning).

- Cross module drainage channels to prevent water buildup (allows normal field water flow and drainage during rainy conditions).

- No large circular support pads (avoids deep depressions and patterns in the field post removal).

- Integrated drainage holes that also provide light, air, and ventilation (prevents mold or fungus and keeps grass looking healthy).

- A moisture canopy that provides shade, retains some moisture and promotes growth (prevents burning of grass – grass often looks greener after an event using UltraDeck).
 
 
     
 
When you remove your UltraDeck floor, your grass may actually look better than it did before you installed the flooring. Simply brush your grass after floor removal and unlike older floors it will be nearly impossible to see any distinguishable pattern resulting from the floor installation.

Each UltraDeck 1 module is manufactured using a high quality co-polymer plastic material that has a high izod impact value and specific no-break characteristics. A 5 year UV package is incorporated into the material formulation to prevent brittleness over time as a result of sun exposure. High ethylene content provides flexure and prevents cracking.

Connector tabs are specially designed with some flexure to prevent tab/connector breakage and to allow for rapid connection and breakdown.

As a result of Signature’s quality material formulation, each UltraDeck floor is able to resist the rigors of regular use and will not break, crack, fade or become brittle. It has proven itself worldwide in all climates and conditions.

With UltraDeck 1 there is no worry of broken plastic parts on your field or loose clips, cams, or other pieces that could pose safety hazards to players or visitors.
 
     
     
 
 
     
 
EDU1 has no submerged channels into which food, debris, cigarette butts, or other troublesome garbage can be lodged. Each section has an anti-slip sandblast finish that is easy to clean using a mop and is elegant and attractive.
